The Counseling Center at Bethel Philadelphia Mills provides counseling and life coaching and exists to help adults who are struggling with personal life skills, interpersonal relationships, personal loss, and/or their relationship with God and to help them resolve those issues so that they can move forward in a God-honoring way.

Meet Our Counselors

Nancy Cole, Counselor

Nancy has a B.S. in Bible and an M.S. in Christian Counseling from Cairn University. Nancy has been counseling since 1994.  Her passion is to see God's Word applied to life situations in order to rise above the difficult experiences of life, so that we can experience all that God has for each of us. While Nancy counsels on a variety of struggles and issues, she specializes in relationship problems, personal growth, anxiety and depression.

Kevin Hawk, Counselor

Kevin obtained a B.S. in Bible and an MS in Christian Counseling from Cairn University in 2006. Kevin began counseling in the fall of 2006 at St. Francis-St. Joseph’s homes for Children RTF program working with troubled teen boys in a residential home program. He has continued to increase his skills and is certified in the Trauma Focus CBT program in addition to being proficient in Cognitive Behavior Models, Behavior Models, and Person Center Counseling. He specializes in working with young people and assisting them with anger management, conflict resolution, resolving and working through trauma, and other potential presenting problems. Kevin also spent some time working with adults at Warren E. Smith outpatient center in 2010. He now works as a Clinical Manager at the St. Francis-St. Joseph’s homes and provides outpatient therapy to clients and families, and services as a consultant to less experienced therapists/counselors. His passion at Bethel’s Christian Counseling Center is to help clients, couples, and families cope with life’s wide array of difficulties through applying God’s word to these problems. Kevin specializes in working with youth and family, but also has had some experience in counseling couples.

Taja Riley, Counselor

Taja is a native of Philadelphia, PA who loves to inspire others. She is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University (BS in Psychology) and Eastern University (MA in School Counseling). She is currently pursuing a PhD at Eastern University in Marriage and Family Therapy and hopes to open a community center for low income families and youth. Taja has experience as a school counselor and with both mental health and child therapy. Her passion at Bethel's Counseling center is to assist individuals working through a variety of life's difficulties while discovering God's purpose for their lives. Some of her specialty areas include anxiety, depression and childhood disorders. 


The Counseling Center is open to both regular attenders of Bethel as well as people who do not attend our church. The counseling fee is $50 for a 50 minute session. Fees are due at the time of the session unless other arrangements have been made in advance and can be paid by cash, check, credit or debit cards.
