counseling services

The Christian Counseling Ministry has been part of Bethel Church since 1996. It provides counseling and life coaching as a ministry of Bethel Church and exists to help those who are struggling with personal life skills, interpersonal relationships, personal loss and to help everyone grow in their relationship with God.

We counsel according to biblical principles and our goal is to help people resolve their issues so they can move forward in a God-honoring way. Information revealed by clients is held in strict confidence except where reporting is required by law.

Counseling at Bethel is open to both regular attenders and non-attenders alike. The counseling fee is $50 for a 50-minute session. There is a discount for regular Bethel attenders* and fees are due at the time of each session by credit or debit card only.

*Regular attenders are those who have been attending Bethel Church for at least 3 months before the start of counseling and attend at least 3 services per month.

Life Coaching

Brian Smith, MBA, Board Certified Life Coach

Brian has an MBA in Organizational Development from DeSales University and is a Certified Christian Life Coach (IBCC - American Association of Christian Counselors).  He has 25+ years of training, consulting, and coaching, including over 14 years of facilitating small groups and men's ministry.

What is Life Coaching:
Different from counseling, coaching is a partnership between a client and life coach to help the client reach different kinds of personal, emotional, and professional goals.  It can be a comprehensive and creative process to inspire the client to maximize their potential and meet those goals.  To put it in summary, coaching is about growth now and in the future.

Statement of purpose:
My mission is to assist individuals to become wise stewards over their time, talents, and treasures.  My deepest conviction is to see the body of Christ actualize as stewards of God.  This includes building God's Kingdom by using all the things that we have received from Him -- life, body, mind, abilities, time and possessions.  Ephesians 4:7 says, "But to each one of us grace was given to the measure of Christ's gift.  Furthermore, 1 Peter 4:10 reveals, "As each of us has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold of the grace of God."

My areas of focus:
Life Coaching and Character Formation
Financial Freedom & Goal Setting
Purpose and Mission Statement Development
